Red Carnation Charter

Turkish Gullet Red Carnation is a British owned 17 metre traditional Turkish motor sailer based in Fethiye Harbour. With 4 spacious air conditioned en-suite cabins and roomy decks she offers the ultimate in luxury. You will be well looked after by the professional English speaking crew of Captain Yusuf and Chef Ismail whilst you cruise around the beautiful blue bays. The crew have sailed in this area for many years and are very knowledgeable about all the bays and local antiquities.

The salon is large and comfortable with entertainment facilities including a TV, DVD and music system. The exterior is finished with teak decks and offers large spacious areas for guests to relax, dine and to soak up the Mediterranean sun.

Red Carnation has a large alfresco dining table which can comfortably seat 10 on the aft deck where you will be served freshly prepared breakfast, lunch and dinner meals, including grilled meats, fish dishes, salads and fruits and Turkish specialties. All meals are surprisingly good, healthy and nutritious. Dinner on the aft deck is usually the highlight of the day: a long leisurely meal sitting under the stars and listening to the water lapping at the hull of the Gullet.

Red Carnation is available for charters along the Turkish Coast including Fethiye, Gocek and Marmaris and is based in Fethiye Harbour.

Fethiye is a traditional market town set around a beautiful natural harbour and is a large centre for blue cruises. An early morning stroll around the harbour will be rewarded with a view of the leatherback turtles who visit daily. Yachts depart from here for yacht charters around the stunning coastline touring the beautiful coves and islands of the Gulf of Fethiye, with breaks for lunch and swimming.

Itinerary

Transfers can be arranged from Dalaman airport to Fethiye Harbour where Red Carnation is based. On arrival you will have plenty of time to familiarise yourself with the boat and her facilities, introduction to the crew and discussion about your itinerary and requirements. Provisions will be brought aboard for the duration of your cruise. On the first evening you can wander into Fethiye for a meal before retiring to your cabin, ready and refreshed to start sailing the next morning.

We have just returned from a fabulous relaxing week on board the Red Carnation. Yusuf and Ismail looked after us very well and nothing was too much trouble for them. We visited numerous coves and bays, did lots of swimming off the boat and found the accommodation very comfortable with a double bed in the cabin, along with our own en-suite bathroom with shower. The aft deck is very roomy with comfortable seating and the large table was perfect for our party of 8 and we enjoyed many a tasty meal prepared by Ismail including fresh fish. We spent a lot of time on the fore deck where there were comfortable sun bed cushions to relax on whilst we were sailing. There was plenty of shade available which was welcome as it was over 40 degrees. Previously we have sailed in the Altinkum area and we found Fethiye very beautiful with dramatic scenery and bays around every corner. We would certainly recommend a cruise on the Red Carnation which is beautifully maintained and very clean. The crew were very knowledgeable and willing to please. We only wish we had longer and will certainly return when we hope to travel further afield. Thanks again Robert for a wonderful cruise.

We arrived in Fethiye on a hot sunny day in June, filled with thoughts of sailing around the coast. We didn't really know what to expect. Our first glimpse of the Red Carnation was sheer joy, with her huge sails and tall masts. She certainly is a lovely Lady. The Marina where she was moored was so pretty with first class facilities and lots of choice for eating out, shopping or simply just watching the giant Turtles swiming in the water. On board we were introduced to the crew, who throughout the day tended to all our needs. We set sail across the bay and a little later we anchored in a beautiful bay to swim or just relax sunning ourselves on soft comfortable mattresses. At this time food was being prepared by the expert chef. The food was delicious and fresh which we all tucked into, washed down by a glass of wine or two. Our time on the Red Carnation was so memorable that we cant wait to do it again. We would certainly recommend this beautiful vessel and the crew to anyone. The whole experience was 5 star, just like the scenery.
